Andrew Longmate

Andrew Longmate is a lawyer and investment professional with over 25 years of experience working on high profile commercial deals. He is an expert in transaction execution, with a background in effectively managing legal risk and strategic issues, company governance, and leading complex due diligence processes.

Qualified as a solicitor, Andrew spent the early part of his career as a corporate lawyer in London working for Freshfields and Latham & Watkins. In 2006 he joined the newly-formed Qatar Investment Authority, where he was a key part of the team working on a range of major deals including Qatar Holding’s investment into Volkswagen, and the strategic partnership between the Qatar Stock Exchange and NYSE Euronext.

Following this he spent a period serving as general counsel and in investment-focused roles for private family offices in Qatar, before returning to the UK and joining Heritage Advisors in 2020.

Originally from North Yorkshire, Andrew currently lives in Surrey with his family. He holds a degree in law and business studies from the University of Birmingham. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his three daughters, playing golf, and supporting Aston Villa FC.
